Coming Soon: A New Collection of Moody Watercolor Landscapes

Frost-clad mornings and warm afternoons - October is turning out to be a beautiful month here in northern Minnesota.

I’ve been busy cranking out a bunch of creative projects that have been sitting on the back burner for a while, waiting patiently for my energy levels to rise to the occasion.

Along with releasing a line of watercolor paints, I’ve also committed to releasing weekly painting tutorials on my YouTube channel.

(Notice how one of the videos is from FIVE YEARS AGO. Dude. This is literally five years of procrastination. Bad, very bad, Rowan.)

Anywho…

I wanted to do a new collection of watercolor abstracts, but every time I sat down at my desk, a landscape would emerge.

So I guess that’s what’s happening next.

I have three pieces done so far :

The colors are all from the autumn watercolor paints, except for the pine charcoal, which also plays a prominent role in each painting.

As I work on the creative process, I’m keeping the words moody, contrasting, solitude, remote in my mind. They are paintings of water and forests and wilderness, and I hope to have a nice variety of smaller paintings (which tend to sell quicker) and a couple really big, dramatic pieces (which are drop-dead gorgeous).

Since I’d like to have at least 8 paintings in the collection, the release timing is still TBD. We’ll see how it comes together in the next week or two.

Until then, my friends.
